We use mixed methods because we want to unearth full narratives around problems, dreams, and solutions.

The HMA prides itself on using a mixed methods approach to curating understanding.

With the rapid & intensifying metamorphosis of technology - we also believe that data without narrative is inaccurate and often irresponsible.

That said - we know there is invaluable information in how people make meaning of their surroundings. How real people think and feel about what large numbers suggest.That is why we emphasis qualitative alongside quantitative data - as it paints a picture with greater depth.

It’s the difference between 3D and 4D.

We also believe the who, how, why, and when of what data is presented has serious and exciting implications for equity in our world.
